Minutes from the Monongahela National Forest and walking distance to food and drinks, the Basecamp is the perfect place to relax after a day of adventuring.
The main floor has a fully equipped mudroom with storage for 6 large bikes, 6 fishing poles, a boot drying rack, and open shelving for additional gear. Also on the first floor is a sitting room with a gas fireplace and one of two full bathrooms with a large shower and a stacked washer/dryer.
Upstairs you will find 3 guest rooms and a second full bathroom. This one boasts a refinished original clawfoot tub for soaking and relaxing.
It has a well-stocked kitchen with a full fridge, gas cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, and a toaster oven (no full-size oven). Adjacent to the kitchen is one of two large dining/work spaces. The other dining/work space is in the sunroom where you will also find two antique army cots and linens for extra sleeping space. It also boasts a deck that overlooks the back patio and garden. There is an outdoor gas fire pit on the patio and a water hose for cleaning off any equipment/gear.

Summit lake campground
Nestled in the National Forest, there are two loops with 33 semi-primitive, wooded campsites with paved access roads and parking spurs. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post and gravel activity area. There are three hand pumps and five accessible vault toilets. Sites are on a first come, first serve basis. There is no electricity, but generator use is permitted from 6am to 10pm. Dogs are permitted if on a leash at all times. It is a short walk along a path to the lake if you choose to go on foot.
Summit Lake is a 43 acre man-made lake which offers large and small mouth bass, bluegill, and trout. Boats with battery powered motors, kayaks, paddle boards and row boats are permitted on the lake. Swimming and gasoline powered engines are prohibited. It is stocked with trout by the West Virginia DNR several times a year. It has an accessible fishing pier and boat launch.
Discharging and draining gray water and black water (sewage) onto National Forest Lands is illegal and punishable by fines. Dump station and water fill are available in Richwood at Four Seasons Outfitters. Dump stations are also available in Marlinton.

Cranberry Campground
Cranberry Campground features 22 single campsites, 2 walk-in single sites and 4 double sites in two loops. Most sites can accommodate a 40' trailer. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post and gravel parking spur. There are two hand pumps and four accessible vault toilets. There is no electricity available but the use of generators is permitted from 6am until 10pm. No dump station is available at campground.
Maximum length of stay is 14 days. Check-out time is 2:00 p.m. Dogs are permitted if on a leash at all times. Leash must be 6 ft. or shorter. Food storage order applies to pet food also.

Cranberry river site
There are 14 primitive campsites available with no water. They are separately numbered and dispersed along a 5-mile section of the lower Cranberry River. Campsites are number 6-19 along the Cranberry River between Big Rock Campground and Cranberry Campground on Forest Road 76. Double sites are available at sites 7 and 12.
The Cranberry River provides great fly fishing, places to take a dip and cool off as well as whitewater when the river is high. There is also backpacking, hiking and mountain biking close by. Two vault toilets service these sites. The sites are first come, first served.

Bishop Knob Campground
A 50+unit wooded, semi-primitive campground centrally located on a ridge top between the Cranberry and Williams Rivers.
There are two loops of first come, first serve basis with 47 single campsites and 6 double sites. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring and lantern post with a gravel parking spur and an activity area. There is one hand pump in each loop. There are 4 accessible vault toilet buildings.
Sites are not reservable and are first come, first serve.
Directions:
From Richwood travel east on State Route 39/55 to Forest Road 76, travel for 6 miles north to Forest Road 81. Follow Forest Road 81 for 6 miles to Forest Road 101.

williams river campground
There are 30 separate, rustic campsites located along Williams River Road, designated as Forest Roads 86 and 216. Many of these sites are close to the river, and are very popular with anglers. These campsites, as well as Tea Creek and Day Run Campgrounds, are the only places camping is permitted along Williams River.
Campsites are scattered along the Williams River Road, from the Three Forks area upstream to a point near the river's headwaters.
NOTE: The Williams River Road will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 until further notice. The road closure is needed for road repair and will extend from Campsite #8 about a mile upstream from the Three Forks Bridge, to the first gate upstream of Spice Run. Turnaround areas exist at both closure points but parking will not be available.
Maximum length of stay is 14 days.
Dogs are permitted if on a leash at all times. Leash must be 6 feet or shorter.
Single site limit is one wheeled camping unit only, defined as motorhome or travel trailer; no more than 8 people; no more than 2 vehicles. Vehicle pulling camper or trailer is considered 1 of the 2 allowed vehicles. Tents must be contained within the campsite.
Vehicles must be parked on gravel or paved spur, not in the woods, grass or road.

big rock campground
Small, wooded 5 unit campground adjacent to the Cranberry River. The Cranberry River provides great fly fishing and directly across from the campground is the popular Big Rock swimming hole. Two vault toilets service these sites. The sites are first come, first serve.
From Richwood travel one mile east on State Route 39/55, then 6 miles north on Forest Road 76.
